Cinco de Mayo Tacos with Casa Bonita Foods

Top Mexican recipes to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Canada

Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is tomorrow, and we want you to be prepared for this year. In the last few months, we have collaborated with different chefs and creators to develop some amazing recipes using Casa Bonita Foods products. So, we decided to select a few of those dishes and create a small list of suggestions that we think are perfect for the occasion.

Before we start, we want to remind you that in the past, we published a post that lists everything you need to prepare for a Cinco de Mayo celebration. In that post, we cover everything from the significance of Cinco de Mayo (based on the Battle of Puebla) to why it has become so popular in North America and why it’s growing in Canada, plus some tips on what to cook for the occasion.

What to prepare for Cinco de Mayo?
Now, staying on the topic of what food to prepare for May 5th, here is the list of our latest recipes:
The best recipe to start your Cinco de Mayo: Chilaquiles – Let’s start with a classic Mexican breakfast and brunch recipe. Recently, we have also had some help adding a twist to this classic, and we think we found the best chilaquiles recipe in Canada.

The best option for Cinco de Mayo lunch or dinner: Tacos – For that, we have two different options for you to choose. First, a classic recipe of Carne Asada Tacos:

As a second option, what about a combo of tacos and soup? Prepare these beef-based tacos dorados and pair them with a delicious shrimp soup with a kick. This is a fun and different way to prepare a meal combo for 5 de Mayo.

Want a few extra options? We got you covered.
Vegan Tacos for Cinco de Mayo – A perfect alternative if you are looking for something different. Mushroom-based recipe with lots of flavour.

Suggestion for a fresh appetizer: Ceviche – Try our unique take with the Casa Bonita Foods ceviche made with Tajin Clasico, and Cantina Style Corn Chips.

Currently, these options are some of our favourites, as we love coming up with unique recipes with our collaborators. That said if you are looking for a list of dishes that connect with the true meaning of Cinco de Mayo and the city of Puebla in Mexico, last year we published a list of recipes with authentic flavours from Puebla to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
