Korean Style Tacos with Casa Bonita Tortillas

Continuing the series of collaborations and recipes with our friend Kyle Crawford @homechefkyle, we recently shared in the Casa Bonita Foods Youtube Channel the second collaboration with a recipe for Korean Style Tacos. Now, let’s take a look at the video, followed by the ingredients and steps, so you can learn how to make and enjoy these Korean tacos with Casa Bonita Foods Tortillas.

Here is the list of ingredients for the recipe:

Slaw

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 tsp gochugaru
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Tacos

  • ½ lb ground pork
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ¼ cup gochujang
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 Casa Bonita blue corn tortillas
  • ¼ cup Casa Bonita fire roasted chipotle salsa

How to prepare the Korean Style Tacos:

Start by preparing slaw. Mix cabbage, salt, gochugaru, garlic powder, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a bowl. Set aside.

Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground pork to the pan and cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes.

Add salt, soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin, honey and gochujang. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until pork is fully cooked.

Combine cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Add to pan, lower heat, and stir until sauce is thick and coating the pork nicely.

Heat a dry cast iron skillet and add Casa Bonita blue corn tortillas to the skillet for 1-2 minutes per side until warm. lay each tortilla in a folded tea towel to keep them soft until all 4 are warmed.

Build your tacos by placing slaw, pork, and green onions on the tortilla. Top with Casa Bonita fire roasted chipotle salsa.
